Dread locks are an interesting look in which some people do not find attractive or sanitary. And then some believe it is cool and different, it all depends on the person. My older brother has had dreadlocks since he was in high school and I find them to be neat, so I decided to research them and figure out how they get started, since I have always been curious.
To start dread locks you will need...
- Dread Wax
- Dreadlocks Shampoo
- Rubber Bands
Facts About DreadLocks:
- Hair needs to be at least 3 inches or longer
- To start the dreadlocks you first part the hair into somewhat small sections and just twist each part until it becomes a dread lock
- The twisting method makes dreadlocks somewhat permanent, meaning to get rid of them it will take a lot of work, or a hair cut.
- There are temporary dreadlocks also, this will involve just a strong hair gel and a lot of twisting and will come out after a day or two. Just needs washed out

These are temporary dread locks, the girl just twisted her hair with gel until her hair looked like this

These dread locks are permanent and will take a lot of work to get out. As the hair grows she just twists the roots until they fit together normally. This took special sectioning, no gel and twisting for days until it held together.
