Day 32: How to Give a Buzzcut

The most common hair cut for men, especially in the summer time, is a short buzzcut. Something they don't have to take care of, something that won't keep them hot. This is what most men want in the summer.

Items Needed:

  • Mirror
  • Comb
  • Hair clippers
  • Blade Guard
  • Cape
  • Standard Hair Cutting Scissors

It is a simple hair cut to give, just follow these steps:

  1. If the hair is long, first comb out the tangles
  2. Attach the shortest length blade guard for a close to the scalp cut, make sure it and the blades are clean and free from hair
  3. Start by cutting above one ear, starting at the hair line
  4. Glide the blade guard gently against the persons scalp until you reach the back of the neck
  5. Return to the front of the head and repeat just beside the already buzzed area
  6. Be sure to have the blade guard slightly overlap the buzzed area in order to ensure all hair is cut
  7. Continue working your way up the clients head until you reach the top middle of the head. When you get to this point, move over to the other ear(with the unshaven hair) and begin just as you did on the opposite side. Work all the way back to the center, until all the hair is gone
  8. Make sure to trim neck hairs and side burns, this is easy if the blade guard is removed and you use the very tip to cut the hair, this should not hurt the client in any way.
Final Result should look similar to this:
