Day 27: Shaping Hair(tools)

    There are different tools used for different things when doing hair, just like anything else. There are several things you can use to shape hair; a razor, regular scissors, or thinning shears.

The following implements are used in hair shaping:

• Regular hair shaping scissors
• Thinning Shears (single or double notched blades)
• Straight Razor
• Razors with Safety Guard
• Combs
• Hair Clippers

Below is a pair of regular hair cutting scissors with parts labeled

The bottom blade is the still point, still while giving a hair cut. The top blade is the only part that moves while cutting hair. This is a hard technique to master, so it takes time for students to understand and master it.
