- If curling your hair, at all, curl stays better in dirty hair, which sadly means that you must not wash your hair for a few days before curling it.
- Make sure you use a heat protecting product when styling your hair for that day.
- Throughout the day more hair spray may need to be added, to insure nothing to come out of place.
- When you wash your hair out, don't try to brush through it first. Just take the bobby pins and rubber bands and accessories out, then shampoo and condition like normal. With all the hair spray you will most likely have on your hair, brushing it out will cause A LOT of breakage.
- I suggest using a conditioning treatment the last time before doing your hair, and right after you take your hair out. All the tangles and such can cause a lot of damage, especially to dyed or bleached hair.
- If you need to dye your hair for the prom, make sure you do it a week or so before, dying your hair does damage it, but you don't want to do it too soon in advance or it will fade, or possibly show your roots
